Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Clinton, MA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent to join our Emergency Department support team. The role involves direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse, with a focus on comfort, safety, and efficient unit operations.

Shifts are 3:00 PM–11:30 PM with holidays and weekends on an alternating basis; starting pay ranges from $15.00 to $25.71 per hour depending on experience, internal equity, and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of CNA, EMT, CMA, or direct patient care experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control guidelines, and sterile techniques.
• Ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English.
• Must remain calm under stress or in emergencies.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in a safe, timely manner.
• Supports patient care by performing duties per unit procedures (EKGs, specimens, phlebotomy, vital signs).
• Maintains medical records and physician orders with accuracy.
• Stocks supplies and adheres to infection control practices.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement and training.
