Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital is seeking an Evening Shift Patient Access Clerk to schedule procedures and gather demographics, insurance and clinical information. This full-time role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent communication as you support patients and families in a high-energy environment.

Located in Saint Louis, MO, the position offers 40 hours weekly, with 3pm–11:30pm shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient access, EHR systems, healthcare workflows.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient data and enters it into the database.
• Schedules procedures efficiently and coordinates times.
• Assists with insurance pre-certification/authorization.
• Counsels patients on pre-service requirements and instructions.
• Performs clerical and registration duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
