Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2 years' experience in healthcare or 1 year in medical/billing/fiscal setting or 6 months in a UPMC Patient Access position preferred.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and managed care is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Reconcile and maintain First Net ED Tracking Board and Hospital ADT system.
• Ensure accurate registration into ADT during downtime with monitoring for accuracy.
• Serve as central resource for ADT registration during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate benefits to support billing.
• Counsel patients regarding insurance coverage and expected financial liability.
• Collect and record patient payments (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles).
• Provide a warm greeting for all patients and uphold HIPAA standards.
