The University of Toledo is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Emergency Dept. to assist nurses and technicians in delivering delegated tasks on the unit. The role supports patient care and requires readiness to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The position is student-based, with shift variability and weekend/holiday coverage. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, hold current BLS, and be able to perform CPR and lift patients as needed.

Qualifications

• Student currently enrolled in an Associate, Baccalaureate, or Masters Degree nursing program.
• Has completed a nursing fundamentals course including check offs (Vitals, I&O, bed making, perineal care).
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to write legibly, speak articulately, and follow directions accurately.
• Finger and hand dexterity to handle delicate instruments and equipment.
• Ability to plan and organize work and work under close supervision.
• Willingness to accept responsibility for patients and perform delegated duties.
• Ability to tolerate strenuous physical activity (turning, bending, lifting).
• May be required to rotate shifts and units; CPR competency.

Responsabilités

• Assists the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse and Mental Health Technician in providing delegated tasks on the nursing unit.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
