Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Orthopedic Unit (6AB) to assist the Registered Nurse in delivering safe, compassionate patient care. You will follow directions, rotate shifts, and work weekends and holidays as required, while maintaining CPR/BLS readiness and completing UTMC Health Tech training as needed.

In this fast-paced surgical unit, you will help with daily rounds, assist with mobility and hygiene, monitor patient status, document observations, and

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• Must complete UTMC Healthcare Tech training and maintain CPR/BLS.
• CPR/BLS certified candidates with CNA/STNA/state registry credentials may be exempt from UTMC course.
• Ability to write legibly, speak articulately, and follow directions.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays and rotate shifts.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and assist in patient care under RN direction and supervision.
• Assist with mobility, hygiene, and daily activities while ensuring patient safety.
• Document observations and communicate with the care team to support quality care.
