Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the Nursing Pool. This student PT HSC role assists licensed staff, maintains a clean unit, and participates in delegated duties with a focus on patient safety and care.

Qualifications include enrollment in a nursing program, completed fundamentals course, current BLS, and ability to perform required physical tasks. Shift is early morning with weekend/holiday coverage; this position requires rotation across units.

Qualifications

• Student currently enrolled in Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s degree nursing program.
• Has completed a nursing fundamentals course including check offs or a clinical rotation.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to write legibly, speak articulately, and follow directions accurately.
• Finger and hand dexterity to handle delicate instruments and equipment.
• Ability to plan and organize work under close supervision and take responsibility for patients.
• Tolerance for strenuous physical activity and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• May be required to rotate shifts and units.
• CPR knowledge and physical requirements are listed in the job description.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse and Mental Health Technician in delegated tasks on the nursing unit.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
