Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist in the Emergency Department under RN supervision. Responsibilities include supporting patient needs, following directives from the RN, Lead/Charge Nurse, and Nursing Director, and working weekends/holidays as needed.

Starting wage is $17.60 per hour with regular increases. Must have a high school diploma or GED, complete UTMC Healthcare Tech training, and maintain CPR/BLS certification; CNA/STNA certification is required or

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Complete UTMC Healthcare Tech training and maintain CPR/BLS.
• Active CNA/STNA certification on state registry at time of application.
• Recent nursing program graduate eligible.
• Candidates passing Skill Assessment may waive Healthcare Tech course.
• Ability to write legibly, speak articulately, and follow directions.
• Willingness to work some weekends/holidays and rotate shifts.
• Physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds and CPR.
• Must be able to stand/walk/bend/reach and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and assist in patient care within RN delegation.
• Follow directions of RN, Lead/Charge Nurse, Nursing Director, and House Supervisor.
• Support patient safety, comfort, and daily activities as assigned.
