Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO seeks an experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RN to float across ED and other acute care units. The role emphasizes rapid assessment, decisive intervention, and teamwork to deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced setting.

Required BSN, current RN license, and BLS. Prior ED/trauma experience is preferred. Full-time days or nights with a 10% float differential; benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• BSN is required. Degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their BSN within four years of hire date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and clinical standards.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Support a culture of teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
