Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Brockton, MA seeks a compassionate assistant to support nursing staff. You will assist with patient care under a Registered Nurse, monitor vital signs, assist with ADLs, and help maintain a safe patient environment.

You will also perform phlebotomy, assist in admissions/discharges, and document I&O and vital signs in the EMR system, contributing to care continuity and safety in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT-P Paramedic certification preferred.
• Computer skills and basic clerical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Maintains safe, comfortable patient environment; assists with mobilization and use of call lights and side rails.
• Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge processes; prepares unit and accompanies patients as directed.
• Assists with activities of daily living and basic nutrition duties; records intake and output.
• Collects specimens including phlebotomy and documents vital signs and I&O in EMR.
• Maintains infection control practices and adheres to safety protocols.
• Communicates effectively with staff and patients; participates in overall patient safety goals.
