Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Brockton, MA seeks a patient care assistant to support Registered Nurses in day-to-day clinical tasks. You will help with admissions, transfers, discharges, ADLs, vitals, specimen collection, and EMR documentation. A valid EMT-P paramedic certification and CPR/ACLS/OEMS are required.

Shifts run 7a–7p with a compensation range of approximately $18.38 to $27.30 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career advancement are offered.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma and EMT-P Paramedic.
• Licenses/registrations: CPR, ACLS, OEMS Certification of Paramedic.
• 1–2 years of experience in medical field; computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care under RN direction and assists nursing staff.
• Assists in admissions, transfers and discharges, and unit prep.
• Assists with ADLs and meal service; records intake and output.
• Assists with specimen collection including phlebotomy.
• Documents vital signs, I&O, and IV insertions in EMR.
• Maintains infection control and patient safety.
• Communicates effectively with patients and staff.
