Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Nursing Assistant to support the nursing team in delivering patient care. Under RN supervision, you will assist with admissions, rounds, hygiene, nutrition, and vital signs, while maintaining a safe environment.

This role requires high school diploma and CNA consideration; phlebotomy skills are a plus. You will work in a fast-paced hospital setting, documenting data in the EMR and assisting with transfers and discharges.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Nursing Assistant experience or one clinical rotation for nursing students.
• Certification/Licensure: CNA license preferred; BLS.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and assists nursing staff.
• Maintains safe environment; helps patients in bed; orients to call light; monitors vitals and comfort.
• Assists with admission, transfer, discharge; prepares unit; moves patients.
• Assists with activities of daily living; serves nourishments; tracks intake/output.
• Collects specimens including phlebotomy; documents vital signs and I&O in EMR.
• Cares for infection control; uses protective measures and proper disposal of infectious materials.
