Job summary

Frederick Health Hospital, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Department Access Registrar for full-time, variable shifts. The role focuses on obtaining accurate demographic and insurance information prior to services to minimize financial risk and denials.

You will ensure eligibility and collect copays and coinsurance at or before service, and direct patients to Financial Counselors when needed, while upholding compliance and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• One year of customer service experience required.
• One year of hospital experience in registration and/or patient accounts or experience in a physician’s office practice preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect and verify demographic and insurance information prior to services.
• Ensure insurance eligibility and authorizations are present at or before service.
• Collect patient cost sharing amounts (copays, deductibles, coinsurance) before or at service.
• Refer patients to Financial Counselors for assistance or provide applications.
• Maintain accurate cash handling and daily cash drawer reconciliation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and Senior Leaders.
