Job summary

Pikes Peak BOCES in Colorado seeks an Early Childhood Special Education Assistant (ECSE-A) to support IEP implementation for birth to eight in preschool and early elementary settings.

You will work directly with students with disabilities under licensed staff supervision, assisting with instructional, behavioral, and developmental support while collaborating with the team to foster inclusive, supportive environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or paraprofessional certification preferred.
• Experience with young children with disabilities strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of child development and early childhood special education.
• Ability to follow direction, remain flexible, and demonstrate patience in a dynamic educational setting.
• Willingness to be trained in behavior strategies, data collection, and early intervention techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of specially designed instruction under the ECSE Teacher or related service providers.
• Support foundational academic, social-emotional, motor, communication, and adaptive skills.
• Implement classroom accommodations, modifications, and behavior support plans.
• Provide 1:1 or small group instructional and behavioral support.
• Assist in preparing and organizing instructional materials.
• Collect behavior and progress data as needed.
