Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Manager, Software Development to lead engineering teams within the Elastic Container Service (ECS) in Seattle, WA. You will own the technical direction and roadmap for ECS features and infrastructure, growing a high-performing organization of engineers and engineering managers.

You will recruit and develop talent, partner with Principal Engineers, Product Managers, and senior AWS leaders to translate a multi-year vision into quarterly and annual

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead two or more engineering teams responsible for designing, building, and operating ECS services at global scale.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from requirements to delivery and operations.
• Set multi-year technical vision for ECS and translate into quarterly and annual deliverables.
• Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent in Seattle and across AWS globally.
• Partner with product management and technical program management to translate customer requirements into plans.
