Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Software Development Manager to lead the ECS Storage and Networking group, owning critical software for container task lifecycles on AWS Fargate. You will mentor engineers, work with product teams, and guide the development of scalable, reliable multi-tier services.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategy, and hands-on architecture within a team focused on customer-facing, mission-critical infrastructure in Jersey City, NJ.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
• 3+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of SDLC practices and patterns across software/hardware/networks development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ECS Storage and Networking group and own the lifecycle of critical software stack for container tasks.
• Mentor and coach engineers to improve skills and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with product/program management to define requirements and product strategy.
• Drive design and development of multi-tier web services, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Operate and maintain mission-critical customer-facing services.
