Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Manager, Software Development in Seattle to lead two or more engineering teams across ECS, owning the full software lifecycle and driving a multi-year technical roadmap. You will recruit and grow engineers and managers, partner with PMs and senior AWS leaders, and uphold high performance and operational excellence.

The role emphasizes cross-team collaboration, design reviews, and scalable architectures to serve thousands of customers worldwide.

Qualifications

10+ years of engineering experience.
5+ years of engineering team management experience.
10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Lead two or more engineering teams responsible for designing, building, and operating ECS services at global scale.
Own the full software development lifecycle from requirements to delivery and operation.
Set multi-year technical vision for ECS and translate into quarterly/annual deliverables.
Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent in Seattle and collaborate globally.
Drive cross-team architectural decisions and maintain high engineering standards.
