Job summary

Amazon Science's CS Economics team seeks economists to apply economic methods to solve business problems. You will design models that leverage large-scale data, work with engineers to scale data resources, and propose mechanism designs to match customers to services.

You will communicate findings to business leaders and help introduce models into production. Ideal candidates combine a strong technical economics toolbox with collaborative, interdisciplinary work in a fast-paced environment,

Qualifications

• PhD in economics or equivalent.
• 2+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience.
• Experience with handling of large datasets.
• Knowledge of at least one statistical software package such as R, Stata, Matlab, SAS.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct rigorous evaluations of CS actions
• Develop experiments to evaluate product launches
• Communicate complex findings to business stakeholders in clear, actionable terms
• Work with engineering teams to develop scalable tools that automate and streamline evaluation processes
