Qualifications

• PhD in economics or equivalent.
• 3+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience.
• Advanced expertise and knowledge of econometric analysis of models that involve estimation of fundamental preferences and strategic effects.
• Strong background in statistics methodology, applications to business problems, and/or big data.
• Experience conducting analysis of pricing, competition, labor decisions, health care outcomes, auctions, marketing strategies, advertising, contract design, and game theory.

Responsibilities

• Economists build econometric models using Amazon's world-class data systems and apply approaches from econometric theory and related fields.
• Develop techniques that apply econometrics to large data sets, address quantitative problems, and contribute to the design of automated systems around the company.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams embedded within a business unit or in a central science and economics organization.
