Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking economists to partner with business teams to formulate scientific questions, estimate models on large-scale data, and translate findings into scalable policies.

Ideal candidates will own the data analysis, work with engineers to develop scalable data resources, and communicate scientific approaches to business leaders to drive impactful HR solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics or equivalent.
• 2+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience.
• Knowledge of at least one statistical software package such as R, Stata, Matlab, SAS
• Experience in prediction and forecasting in a research or industrial environment
• Experience with handling of large datasets

Responsibilities

• Use causal inference and other econometric methods to evaluate the impact of policies on employee outcomes.
• Examine how internal policies and tools and external labor market and economic conditions impact Amazon's ability to hire, develop, and retain talent.
• Use scientifically rigorous methods to develop and recommend career paths for employees.
