Qualifications

• NJ Department of Education certs required per state rules.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university preferred unless otherwise specified by NJDOE.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study meeting the needs, interests and abilities of students.
• Evaluates student progress regularly and prepares progress reports.
• Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic communications skills as well as general course requirements.
• Provides individual, small, and large group instruction to adapt curriculum to varied learner needs.
• Instructs pupils on proper care and use of textbooks and materials.
• Maintains standards of pupil behavior for an orderly, productive environment.
• Selects and requisitions books and instructional materials and maintains inventories.
• Develops instructional plans and organizes class time for a balanced program.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service activities and growth opportunities.
• Supervises pupils during the school day and coordinates work of aides and paraprofessionals.
• Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with staff to address learning health and behavioral issues.
