Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, CE, CEAS or equivalent as required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Evaluates student progress regularly and prepares progress reports.
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic communications skills as part of the course of study.
• Provides individual and group instruction to accommodate different abilities and learning levels.
• Maintains orderly and productive classroom environment.
• Selects and requisitions instructional materials and maintains inventory records.
• Develops instructional plans and organizes class time for a balanced program.
• Participates in professional development activities and in‑service education.
• Communicates with parents and pupil personnel staff about pupil progress.
• Collaborates with staff to address health, attitude, and learning needs.
