Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Two years of technical or college level education and one year of full time work experience in human services, customer service, financial record keeping, or interviewing.
• OR Five years of full time work experience in human services, customer service, financial record keeping or interviewing.
• One year of computer experience in data entry, research, or retrieving information preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts interviews with clients to determine eligibility for programs like Foodshare, Badger Care, Child Care, Caretaker Supplement and Medicaid.
• Answers calls in a regional call center and handles applications, renewals, and case questions.
• Analyzes and enters data into Cares Worker Web for benefits calculation.
• Determines eligibility and benefit levels within time limits and notifies clients with regulations.
• Maintains case files and writes worker narrations for benefit issuances and corrections.
• Researches and prepares summaries for administrative hearings related to economic assistance.
• Reviews error-prone applications, initiates fraud investigations, and testifies in court.
• Develops and maintains relationships with county staff, partners, agencies, clients, and the public.
• Attends staff meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
