Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Health is seeking an Economic Stability Supervisor in Orleans Parish to oversee an Economic Stability Service Center. You will lead a team, ensure program compliance, and improve service delivery for SNAP and related programs.

Key responsibilities include supervising analysts, reviewing cases, maintaining records, providing training, and coordinating disaster readiness efforts. This role emphasizes leadership, policy interpretation, and cross-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Six years of economic stability social services experience or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree plus three years economic stability social services experience.
  • Advanced degree plus two years economic stability social services experience.
  • Experience substitution up to four years via semester hours is allowed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Social Service Analysts by assigning work, monitoring performance, resolving concerns, and training staff.
  • Reviews cases for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in SNAP and related programs.
  • Ensures accurate program data and records in multiple systems (CLIENT, SEVIS, CCLS, TIPS, LDES, INFOPAC).
  • Interprets policies, provides technical assistance, and develops training for compliance.
  • Analyzes reports to identify trends and improve processes and performance.
  • Builds relationships with community partners to connect clients with services and increase participation.
  • Coordinates disaster preparedness and response activities and supports emergency shelter operations.

  • Six years of economic stability social services experience; OR
  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of economic stability social services experience; OR
  • A bachelor's degree plus three years of economic stability social services experience; OR
  • An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus two years of economic stability social services experience.
  • EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties
  • Supervises Social Service Analysts by assigning work, monitoring performance, resolving employee concerns, and providing training and guidance.
  • Reviews cases and subordinate work for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness related to SNAP, Family Independence Temporary Assistance, and Kinship Care Assistance programs.
  • Ensures staff maintain accurate program data, documentation, and case records in CLIENT, SEVIS, CCLS, TIPS, LDES, INFOPAC, and other applicable systems.
  • Interprets and communicates program policies and procedures, provides technical assistance, and develops training to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Analyzes statistical and management reports, identifies trends and operational issues, and develops recommendations to improve program processes and performance.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with community partners to connect clients with needed services, address service gaps, and increase participation in available programs.
  • Coordinates disaster preparedness and response activities, including maintaining staff readiness, activating calling trees, conducting SNAP disaster interviews, and assisting with emergency shelter operations.

Compensation: This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER), as well as a Premium Pay of up to $2.00/hr for hours worked based on longevity.
