Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas/Fort Worth area is seeking an ECMO specialist to participate in developing treatment plans, assess and implement care, and educate the care team. The role requires collaboration with ECMO physicians and a multidisciplinary team to tailor the ECMO patient care plan.

You will need a Bachelor’s degree with an ECMO training program, Texas RN license or equivalent, and at least two years of critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and completion of designated ECMO training or formal education in extracorporeal circulation.
• RN license in Texas or equivalent (RRT/ CCP) with BLS and ACLS.
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and contributes to the ECMO treatment plan, including assessment, planning, implementation and education.
• Coordinates with ECMO physician and healthcare team to interpret and adjust the ECMO patient care plan.

Job Purpose

The ECMO specialist participates in the development of a treatment plan, involving assessment, planning, implementation, and education. Communicates with the ECMO physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust and complete treatment specific to the ECMO patient care plan.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corpureal Circulation.
• Licenses and/or Certifications: Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing Or RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist License and Current NBRC – National Board of Respiratory Care Or CCP – Certified Perfusion License And Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
• Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
