Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking an ECMO specialist to participate in developing and executing treatment plans for ECMO patients. You will assess, plan, implement, and educate while collaborating with the ECMO physician and the healthcare team to tailor care to each patient.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and ECMO training or related extracorporeal circulation education, plus relevant licenses (RN TX BON or RRT or Certified Perfusion) and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Completion of ECMO training or formal education in extracorporeal circulation.
• Active licenses: RN (TX BON) or RRT or Certified Perfusion; BLS/ACLS.

Job Description / Purpose

The ECMO specialist participates in the development of a treatment plan, involving assessment, planning, implementation, and education. Communicates with the ECMO physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust and complete treatment specific to the ECMO patient care plan.

Job Requirements

• Education:Bachelor’s degreeCompletion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation.
• Licenses and/or Certifications:Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of NursingOr RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist License and Current NBRC – National Board of Respiratory CareOr CCP – Certified Perfusion LicenseAndBasic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart AssociationAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
• Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
