Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center seeks an ECMO specialist to contribute to complex patient care involving ECMO therapy. You will assess, plan, implement, and educate as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating with the ECMO physician to tailor treatment for each patient.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, ECMO training, and active Texas RN or equivalent licensure, plus at least two years in critical care.

Job Purpose

The ECMO specialist participates in the development of a treatment plan, involving assessment, planning, implementation, and education. Communicates with the ECMO physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust and complete treatment specific to the ECMO patient care plan.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation.

Licenses and/or Certifications: Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing Or RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist License and Current NBRC – National Board of Respiratory Care Or CCP – Certified Perfusion License And Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association

Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
