Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for the night shift. This on-site role involves ECMO-capable respiratory care within the RESPIRATORY & SLEEP department.

You will operate ventilators and airway devices, administer aerosolized therapies, monitor blood gases, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver age-appropriate patient care. Texas license (RCP) is required; ECMO certification is preferred and NRP within 6 months is expected.

Qualifications

• Current State of Texas RCP license required.
• RCP, CRT or RRT certification preferred.
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire date.
• ECMO certification within 1 year or eligible; ECMO experience preferred.
• Proficient with patient monitoring equipment and computer documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate ventilators and therapeutic gas equipment.
• Provide emergency care and assist with CPR when needed.
• Monitor vital signs, ABGs, and adjust therapy per physician orders.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and therapies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to manage patient care.
• Perform tests such as pulmonary function tests and bronchoscopy assistance.
• Maintain and inspect respiratory therapy equipment for safety.
