Job summary

Brookwood Baptist Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide advanced care for patients on ECMO in the CVICU. This role requires clinical expertise in managing life support equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response to emergencies within a busy critical care setting.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans, ensure patient safety, and support family education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for ECMO patients in CVICU per unit protocols.
• Operate ECMO equipment under MD/perfusion supervision.
• Monitor ECMO circuit and invasive monitors for stability and safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, perfusionists and the nursing team.
• Participate in staff development and unit performance improvement.
