Expect a rotating schedule including early and late shifts; the unit emphasizes advanced skills, patient advocacy, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.
• Maintains current Alabama RN license.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification; ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC as required for certain areas.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies.
• Utilizes information and assessment data to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Identifies and prioritizes information to take immediate and decisive action.
• Monitors and adjusts equipment and interprets cardiac/ventilator displays.
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Documents patient care meeting regulatory standards; includes assessment, education, meds, and safety.
• Collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to plan and manage patient care.
• Coordinates care and delegates tasks to team members as appropriate.
