Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Echo Technologist to perform echocardiographic procedures, including M-Mode, 2D, color flow, Doppler, and stress echocardiograms. The role assists with transesophageal procedures and pericardiocentesis, and may involve contrast imaging.

You will provide preliminary analysis and ensure ICAEL standards are met within the department. Minimum qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent, plus RDCS certification or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Preferred 1 to 3 years’ experience performing echocardiograms.
• RDCS certification through ARDMS or equivalent; or eligible and must obtain certification within one year of hire.
• CPR – American Heart Association; background clearances and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and perform ultrasound imaging according to ICAEL protocol.
• Assist cardiologist with TEE and stress imaging studies.
• Perform quality control, equipment cleaning, and maintain supplies.
• Recognize need for contrast imaging and administer if trained.
• Operate ultrasound systems and data entry for patient records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
