Job summary

Ascension is seeking a skilled technician to perform cardiac imaging and ensure accurate, high-quality studies for physician review. You will position patients, optimize equipment, and manage image capture to support timely clinical decisions.

The role emphasizes strict safety, regulatory adherence, and efficient data transfer to PACS, with strong teamwork within the Heart Care department at Ascension Medical Group Clinic in Marion, IN.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date or transfer date; American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• Credential options must be obtained within 12 months: CCI Cardiographic Tech, ARRT Cardiac-Intrvn Radiography, ARRT Radiologic Technologist, ARDMS Cardiac Sonographer, CCI Cardiac Sonographer, ARDMS Sonographer, or Cardiac Sonography credentials.

Responsibilities

• Deliver diagnostic clarity by performing routine and advanced cardiac imaging procedures.
• Capture high-precision images by proper transducer use, patient positioning and equipment calibration.
• Submit high-quality images and clinical history to PACS for rapid physician review.
• Maintain safety and regulatory standards through daily quality checks.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver vital diagnostic clarity by performing both routine and complex cardiac imaging procedures to evaluate cardiac structures and hemodynamics for optimal physician decision‑making.
• Capture high‑precision diagnostic images by skillfully maneuvering transducers, positioning patients, and calibrating equipment settings to clearly distinguish pathology from artifacts.
• Streamline the patient care journey by ensuring prompt, accurate submission of high‑quality images and clinical history directly to PACS for rapid physician review.
• Maintain rigorous safety and compliance by performing daily quality control checks and upholding regulatory standards to protect both patients and the care team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure /Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Cardiac-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
