Job summary

Sentara Health in Charlottesville, VA seeks an Echocardiographer to perform diagnostic heart ultrasound exams and generate reports for cardiologists.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:45a–4:45p with no nights or weekends. New grads are welcome. Requires graduation from an accredited trade school and registry within 12 months, plus ACLS/BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Trade School is required.
• Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS, RCS or RDCS) within 12 months of hire.
• ACLS and BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform two-dimensional echocardiograms and Doppler echocardiograms to evaluate heart structure and function.
• Complete technologist reports in the structured report system.

Overview

An Echocardiographer, also known as a cardiac sonographer, specializes in performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations of the heart. These professionals work closely with cardiologists to evaluate heart structures, functions, and blood flow, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Performs two dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.
