Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Perform 2D, Doppler, transesophageal and stress echocardiograms.
• Evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for heart disease assessment.
• Complete technologist report in the structured report system.
• Maintain communication with patients and healthcare providers.
• Work within fast-paced noninvasive imaging environment.

Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson is hiring a full time Echocardiographer in Charlottesville, VA! Ideal candidates will have one year of experience.

$20,000 Sign on Bonus available for qualified candidates.

About the department:

The noninvasive team at Sentara Martha Jefferson includes RN's, Cardiovascular Technicians, and Sonographers seeing an average of 7 patients a day both inpatient and outpatient. The Echocardiographer must live within a 30-minute drive of the hospital for call purposes.

Hours:

Monday - Friday, day shift, with call every 4th week to include the weekend. Either 7 to 330p or 8a to 430p.

Job Duties

The noninvasive Echocardiographer performs two dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Associates or bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology preferred

Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines.

Certification

Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire

ACLS within 90 days of hire

Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS or RCS or RDCS) required within 12 months of hire.

Experience

Echocardiography - 1-yr. exp highly preferred

Clinical Experience in an acute setting

Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments

Communication with patients and providers

knowledge on performing measurements of heart structures

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $42.23 - $62.80 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
