Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking an experienced echocardiography sonographer to independently perform adult echocardiograms and report preliminary impressions. All exams follow ICAEL protocols and may be conducted in inpatient, outpatient, or procedural settings.

The role requires graduation from an echocardiography program with a credential (RDCS/RCS/CRCS) due within one year of graduation and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an echocardiography program.
• Must obtain RDCS, RCS, or CRCS credential within one year from graduation.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform adult echocardiograms and report preliminary impressions.
• Follow ICAEL-guided protocols for all exams.
• Perform stationary and portable exams in inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings.
• Conduct transthoracic, transesophageal, dobutamine and stress echocardiograms.
• Perform contrast and bubble studies to enhance image quality.
• Execute all other duties as directed.

• All exams are performed within standard protocols guided by Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography (ICAEL).
• The sonographer performs stationary and portable exams in the inpatient, outpatient, and procedural setting.
• Performs transthoracic, transesophageal, dobutamine and stress exercise echocardiograms.
• Performs contrast and bubble studies to enhance image quality.
• All other duties and assignments as directed.

Qualifications

• Graduation of an echocardiography program required.
• Must obtain an appropriate credential (RDCS, RCS, or CRCS) within one year from the date of graduation of echocardiography program.
