Job summary

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an echocardiography program.
• Must obtain RDCS, RCS, or CRCS within one year of graduation.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult echocardiograms independently with preliminary impressions.
• Perform stationary and portable exams in inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings.
• Perform transthoracic, transesophageal, dobutamine and stress echocardiograms; use contrast to enhance image quality.
• Follow standard ICAEL-guided protocols and participate in quality assurance.

• The echocardiography sonographer independently performs adult echocardiograms and reports preliminary impressions as indicated. All exams are performed within standard protocols guided by Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography (ICAEL).
• The sonographer performs stationary and portable exams in the inpatient, outpatient, and procedural setting.
• Performs transthoracic, transesophageal, dobutamine and stress exercise echocardiograms. Performs contrast and bubble studies to enhance image quality.
• All other duties and assignments as directed.

Qualifications

• Graduation of an echocardiography program required.
• Must obtain an appropriate credential (RDCS, RCS, or CRCS) within one year from the date of graduation of echocardiography program.
• BLS certification
