Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Echo Tech II to perform adult echocardiography including 2-D, M-Mode, and Doppler studies. The role supports stress and transesophageal echo procedures under physician orders and adheres to safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree with ultrasound training, BLS certification, and ARDMS/CCI registry status, with one year of hospital-based Doppler experience. Proficiency in Syngo/EPIC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with one-year relevant experience.
• Graduate from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program.
• BLS Certification.
• Active ARDMS or CCI Echo registry status.
• 1 year of hospital-based Doppler echocardiography experience.
• Imaging skills required and computer aptitude.
• Spanish language ability preferred.
• 3 years of experience preferred.
• Experience in telemedicine transmissions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs adult 2-D, M-Mode, pulsed, continuous and color Doppler echocardiograms per policy and procedure.
• Assists with stress echocardiography and transesophageal echo procedures.
• Maintains patient safety and reduces healthcare errors.
• Operates within Syngo and EPIC systems and documents results.
• Performs timely call coverage and patient procedure explanations.
• Precepts sonographer interns and participates in education.
• Participates in ongoing professional development and ICAEL accreditation.
