Job summary

Intermountain Health in Colorado is seeking an Echo Tech to conduct diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction. This full-time role involves four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Mon–Fri) with a rotating day off and on-call duties at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, CO.

You will perform ultrasound exams, ensure patient safety, and coordinate care with staff and families, while mentoring others and documenting results. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography (required).
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; education from an accredited institution; degree will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for exams by patient identification, education, and transport.
• Perform ultrasound exams per related protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs and coordinate care with physicians and family.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Maintain equipment and work area; coordinate repairs or supplies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities.
• Provide education for caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
