Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams under physician direction. This full-time role involves 40 hours weekly, four 10-hour shifts, with on-call duties and a 30-minute response time. The position primarily serves St.

Mary's Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO with some rotations to the Cardiology Clinic. Required ARDMS/CCI certification and BLS; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography is required.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred and must be from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department-specific protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physicians, other caregivers, and patients.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and transport patients as needed.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols and in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers during exams.
• Document exam results and applicable information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Maintain and clean equipment and work areas.
• Support repair and supply coordination.
• Participate in quality improvement processes and educational opportunities.
• Provide education for caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
