Job summary

SAL Community Services seeks a Higher Education and Workforce Development Navigator to connect the incumbent Early Childhood Education workforce with 2- and 4-year colleges, supporting attainment of degrees, licenses, and credentials. You will recruit, advise, and facilitate access to higher education opportunities, building cross-system collaboration to strengthen the child care workforce.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of two years of work experience in early childhood care and education, counseling/social work, family support, adult education, or higher education.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Plan, publicize, and facilitate informational/educational sessions on higher education and financial aid processes for incumbent ECE workforce.
Provide support to incumbent workforce on assessing needs and connecting them to higher education opportunities.
Build relationships with staff at ECE programs at 2- and 4-year colleges to identify candidates from the incumbent workforce.
Conduct outreach to ECE workforce regarding recruitment, assistance, and informational outreach.
Collect information on barriers to higher education experienced by incumbent workforce members.
