Job summary

Berkeley County Schools in West Virginia is seeking an ECCAT/Supervisory Special Ed PreK Aide at Marlowe Elementary in Falling Waters. The role supports PreK special needs students under the supervision of the Principal and Director of PreK-K Programs.

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 200-day employment term, non-exempt status. The position requires a high school diploma, background check, and ECCAT eligibility or certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Criminal background check required.
• Must pass aide competency test if not ECCAT certified.
• Must be eligible to apply for ECCAT authorization and complete required training.
• Follow WV state requirements and county policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with planning, preparation, and distribution of materials.
• Conduct learning activities and small-group instruction.
• Maintain attendance and comply with state laws and policies.
• Ensure a safe classroom environment and manage emergencies.
• Assist with supervision of students in multiple locations (bus, cafeteria, etc.).
• Participate in in-services and workshops; protect confidentiality.
