Job summary

Kanawha County Public Schools seeks an Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher (ECCAT) Aide to support classroom instruction and student supervision in a Kindergarten ECCAT setting. This role assists teachers in small groups or one-to-one with students and helps manage instructional activities.

The position requires a High School diploma, WV background checks, and willingness to complete ECCAT coursework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; background check required.
• Meet WV Code qualifications and state-approved competency.
• Ability to perform essential duties and accommodate disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
• Assists teacher with planning, prep, and materials.
• Conducts learning games with students.
• Provides small-group or one-to-one instruction.
• Assists with bus supervision and safety.
• Attends training and in-service as required.
• CPR/First Aid training and other safety duties.
• Administers medication to students per WV code.
• Follows all safety rules and PPE.
