Job summary

KIPP North Carolina is seeking an Exceptional Children Lead Teacher to support students with disabilities through SDI within resource, co-taught, or self-contained settings. You will collaborate with classroom staff and families, manage IEPs, and contribute to a positive school culture focused on equity and high expectations.

Requirements include an active NC EC license, a Bachelor's in a relevant content area, and a commitment to anti-racism and closing opportunity gaps.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Exceptional Children license that is active on the first day of New To KIPP (July 2025)
• Deep commitment to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion
• Possess a deep commitment to closing the opportunity gap

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) to students who qualify for special education services within a resource, co-taught, or self-contained setting
• Utilize the general education curriculum, research-based programs, and evidenced-based practices to plan and deliver instruction for students with disabilities
• Communicate effectively with school staff and parents about student progress and needs
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct IEP records as required by law and policy
• Develop and ensure proper implementation of IEPs across the school environment
• Participate in professional development and ongoing coaching to improve instructional practice
