Job summary

KIPP North Carolina is seeking an Exceptional Children Lead Teacher to support students with special needs, align instruction to IEPs, and collaborate with coaches and families. The role emphasizes equity, inclusion, and high expectations in a dynamic KIPP learning environment.

The EC Lead Teacher will implement SDI, maintain accurate records, and participate in ongoing professional development to advance student outcomes across K-12 settings.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Exceptional Children License required on first day of employment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant content area required.
• Criminal Background Check must be clear.
• Deep commitment to anti-racism, equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) to students with disabilities in resource, co-taught or self-contained settings
• Use IEPs and related services to plan and deliver instruction aligned to individual goals
• Communicate regularly with families and staff about student progress and needs
• Build and maintain a classroom culture that supports student responsibility and mutual respect
