Job summary

KIPP North Carolina is seeking an Exceptional Children Lead Teacher to support students with disabilities and ensure access to the general education curriculum through SDI. You will collaborate with coaches and teachers to tailor instruction and monitor progress using data-driven approaches.

The role emphasizes building a strong classroom culture, communicating with families, and participating in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Exceptional Children License
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant content area
• Commitment to anti-racism, equity and inclusion
• Ability to deescalate challenging situations and manage classroom behavior

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) to students with disabilities in resource, co-taught, or self-contained settings
• Utilize curriculum and evidence-based practices to plan and deliver instruction
• Develop positive relationships with students, families, staff and community
• Maintain classroom culture aligned with school policies and procedures
• Communicate progress and needs regularly with parents and staff
• Perform duties as assigned by school leadership and EC program staff
