Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC is seeking an exceptional EC General Curriculum teacher to deliver instruction aligned to IEPs for students with disabilities. The role includes developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual instruction, while collaborating with administrators and EC staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Starting immediately, the position is certified schedule/Full–time for 10 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in education or related field.
• Master’s degree in education preferred.
• Valid NC teaching license in assigned area required.
• Experience with EC/IEP processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with administration and other educators to create the most complete educational environment for EC students.
• Follow established school procedures for crisis or emergency situations.
• Administer and interpret individual educational testing.
• Utilize data to ascertain progress towards academic and behavioral/emotional goals.
• Establish clear objectives for all academic and pro-social skills lessons and design instruction to support students.
• Modify curriculum/instruction to meet IEP goals.
• Develop, implement and assess behavior intervention plans and IEPs.
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss student progress.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Create an inclusive environment with positive communication.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
