Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children teacher to support inclusive classrooms. Under moderate supervision, you will develop lesson plans and deliver group and individual instruction aligned to IEPs to help EC students meet academic goals, while adhering to district policies and school procedures.

The role requires collaboration with administrators and teachers, data-driven instruction, crisis procedures, and ongoing professional development to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field is required.
• NC Teaching license in assigned area is required.
• Master's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with administration and other educators to create the most complete educational environment for EC students
• Administer and interpret individual educational testing
• Utilize data to ascertain progress towards academic and behavioral/emotional goals
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons and communicate these goals to students
• Design instruction to support students based on IEPs and needs
• Develop, implement, and assess behavioral plans aligned with IEPs
• Provide inclusive environment with positive communication
