Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an Exceptional Children teacher to implement IEP-aligned instruction and develop lesson plans for EC students. You will deliver group and individual instruction, collaborating with administrators and teachers to ensure a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Under moderate supervision, you will use data to track progress, administer assessments, and adapt instruction to meet academic and behavioral goals outlined in IEPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced teaching responsibilities.
• Valid, or renewing, North Carolina Teaching license in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with administration and other educators to create a comprehensive educational environment for EC students
• Administer and interpret Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related testing
• Use data to measure progress toward academic and behavioral goals
• Develop, administer, and grade tests and assignments to assess student progress
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with laws, district policies, and regulations
• Create an inclusive classroom that supports diverse learners and modifies instruction as needed
