Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support the assigned teacher and EC students. You will help learners meet IEP goals and provide access to general education as needed, under principal direction.

The role requires assisting with instruction, supervising students in multiple settings, and preparing instructional materials while adhering to all school policies. Immediate start available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Requires at least associate degree or 48 college credits.
• Experience with EC students preferred (1 year).
• Completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist EC students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
• Maintain and document student progress toward IEP goals.
• Prepare lesson materials and bulletin boards for assigned classroom.
• Assist with attendance procedures and record-keeping.
• Support during bus transportation and field trips.
• Follow policies and safety procedures as directed by teachers.
