Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support EC teachers and help students reach IEP goals in a structured classroom setting. This 9-month, full-time, hourly role reports to the Non Instructional/Support Services department and requires collaboration with staff.

You will assist in small groups, supervise students, prepare materials, document progress, and help with transportation and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 48 credits required.
• WorkKeys or Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship/TA training completed preferred.
• One year working with EC children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher and EC students to master learning concepts.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums.
• Collect data to document student progress toward IEP goals.
