Job summary

NIS EXPRESS is seeking CDL-A drivers for the Eastern regional fleet operating from a terminal near Ocala, FL. New drivers can train for 4 to 6 weeks with an experienced trainer, then advance to solo driver pay while covering loads on the East Coast.

Average weekly gross is around $1,200 with a guaranteed floor of $1,000 for the first 3 months. Benefits include health/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, and orientation pay. Riders and pets are allowed after training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL.
• Trainees welcome with 120+ hours of CDL training.
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12+ months in the past 5 years.
• Military experience considered with a valid DD214.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years, no major preventable accidents in the last 5 years, no DUI/DWI in the past 5 to 10 years.
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate dry van freight along the Eastern seaboard.
• Home every 2 weeks.
• Support training new CDL holders before transitioning to solo driver pay.
• Follow routes from a terminal near Ocala, FL.

Job description

Gainesville drivers: this Eastern regional fleet runs out of a terminal just down the road in Ocala, keeps its freight on the East Coast, and hires new CDL holders straight out of school.

How the Pay Works

• Average weekly gross: $1,200
• Starting rate: $0.55 per mile, plus 1 cent per mile for every additional 12 months of experience, up to $0.65
• Guaranteed floor: $1,000 a week for your first 3 months after solo dispatch
• Extras: $15 stop pay and a monthly performance bonus
• Miles: around 2,500 per week

Where You Run

• Up and down the Eastern seaboard
• Loads do not go far west
• Dry van freight, day and night dispatches
• Home every 2 weeks

Paid Training

• New CDL-A holders are welcome to apply
• 4 to 6 weeks over the road with an experienced trainer
• Guaranteed weekly training pay, then straight to full solo driver pay
• Must have completed at least 120 hours at an accredited CDL school
